What is Refugee Sabbath?

  • June 20th of every year is World Refugee Day, a day designated by the United Nations to honor and celebrate the resilience and courage of refugees.
  • Refugee Sabbath was launched by Adventist Refugee & Immigrant Ministries and is now also recognized and promoted by the global Seventh-day Adventist Church and Adventist Development and Relief Agency.
  • We encourage congregations to dedicate this Sabbath to special worship programs and prayer for refugees.
  • It's a chance for thousands of local churches across North America to share God's heart for refugees & immigrants with their membership.
